M³ Dictionary
Overview and Functionality
The M³ Dictionary derives its name from the three Ms:
- Multifunctional - it allows you to perform various lookups: exact,
part-of, fuzzy (similar), regex (restricted regular expressions)
- Multilingual - it allows you to lookup for many various source and target languages
- Morphological - it allows you to lookup for words that you input in their
flectioned or derived form.
- supporting right now well over 80 language pairs
- language support extendable at runtime
- supports more modes of lookup than any other online dictionary
- the dictionaries contain well over 1 million entries
- translation of phrases possible
Examples
Choose as source language "Spanish" and as target language "English". The
query string could be e.g. "hombre". The "exact" match lookup is activated as
default. Activate also the "part-of" search. You will get a list of exact
matches and a - probably longer - list of part-of matches.
The results of the "partof" search as well as the results of
the "fuzzy" search contain the results of the "exact" search as well, so save
your unit for "exact" search when choosing the partof/fuzzy searches and
deselect that option.
Restrictions
- A maximum of 100 hits is displayed for every query (if the lexica contain more
entries, only the first 100 will be shown).
- For queries where the query-expression is less than 4 chars in length,
part-of match is not allowed.
- Input and output in lowercase only.
- Fuzzy and morphological search available for Advanced and Premium members.
- Regex search available for Premium members.
