Free Contingent and its Renewal
Every service on this portal is assigned a certain amount of units for free
use. That way users get the opportunity to try a restricted set of services
for free. The size of this contingent, the amount of units for the services,
depends on the type of account a user has. The value that is assigned to such
an unit depends on the type of account and the required service (the unit for
a diacritization operation has a different price than the unit for a
dictionary look-up).
How does it work?
When a account is created at registration, the user is assigned a free
contingent for free use of various services available on the portal. This
contingent is renewed at regular intervals to its original extent. Unused
units thus expire and it is not possible to save them up in any way. A
possibility how to circumvent the constraint of using the services of the
portal is for registered users the usage of a prepaid account.
The renewal interval for the contingent of free units is 24 hours. The free
units represent a possible free usage of services by the user. If part of the
contingent are 20 free units for dictionary lookup and one usage does cost one
unit, then the user is able to do 20 dictionary queries within a day.
In case all units are exhausted or insuffi<<
For compensation of a requested service the free contingent is always used
first and only in case of it being insufficient, the prepaid-account is
used.
The use of a prepaid account is only possible after registration. Anonymous
users / guests have only the free contingent at their disposal.
See the section about user
registration for some reasons why to register.
